Hairstroke adds the appearance of individual hairs where there are none. It works when the gaps have defined edges — a thin tail, a sparse front, an over-plucked arch. It works less well on oily skin, where fine strokes blur as they heal.

What the next month actually looks like.
This is the part people are not warned about often enough. Brows look too dark before they look right, and that is normal rather than a mistake.

Days 1–3
Darker and sharper
Noticeably bolder than the healed result. Some swelling and tenderness on the first day.

Days 4–10
Flaking
Fine scabbing lifts. Do not pick it — that is how strokes are lost. Keep it dry and follow the aftercare.

Weeks 2–4
The ghost phase
Brows look faded, patchy, almost gone. Nearly everyone panics here. Pigment resurfaces as the skin settles.

Touch-up
We fill what did not take, adjust colour and shape. Booked and priced separately from the first session.

Permanent makeup is a tattoo, and some conditions and medications make it unsafe or unpredictable. Message us first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have taken isotretinoin in the past year, use blood thinners, scar keloid, have a skin condition or active breakout in the brow area, or are managing diabetes or an autoimmune condition.
- Botox in the forehead area: leave at least two weeks either side
- Chemical peels or laser near the brows: four weeks clear
- Existing permanent brows from elsewhere: send a photo before booking, in daylight

How long do hairstroke brows last?
One to two years before the colour needs refreshing, depending on your skin type, sun exposure and skincare. Oily skin and acid-based products both fade pigment faster. This is permanent makeup, not a permanent tattoo: it is designed to soften over time rather than stay sharp forever.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream goes on before we start and is topped up throughout. Most people describe it as scratching rather than pain, and a fair number fall asleep. The area can feel tender for a day afterwards.
Is this the same as microblading?
The look is similar, but the tool is not. Microblading uses a hand-held blade; we use a digital machine with a fine needle, which places pigment more consistently and is gentler on the skin. On most skin types the healed result holds its definition better.
What if I do not like the result?
The shape is drawn on and agreed with you before any pigment goes in, and nothing starts until you are happy with it in the mirror. Colour and thickness can be adjusted at the touch-up. We deliberately go lighter than you might expect at the first session, because adding is easy and removing is not.
Can you work over permanent brows from another studio?
Sometimes. Send a daylight photo on WhatsApp before booking. If the existing pigment is too dark, too saturated, or has healed to an unusual colour, it may need fading or removal first, and we will say so rather than layer over it.
How should I prepare?
Skip alcohol and caffeine on the day, and avoid blood thinners, fish oil and alcohol for 24 hours beforehand if your doctor is fine with that, since they all increase bleeding and pigment takes less well. Do not wax or tint the brows in the week before. Come with a clear day after, not with a wedding.
